Dataxis is monitoring quarterly all Pay TV operators in Europe,Latin America and North America, by country and type of access. Dataxis methodology to analyse market power for each supplier is to attribute a percentage of the installed base of every Pay TV operator to each supplier in actual or recent relationship with it. If two suppliers only are active, each has 50%, etc. STBs considered include cable, satellite, terrestrial, IPTV, OTT, and makes no difference between SD, HD and advanced STBs. This is in no way a method to reflect actual shipments, nor value market share, but Dataxis believes it represents well the customer base of each supplier and its power in the market. The potential of each supplier can be easily analysed, as Dataxis also provides ARPU, 2nd STB, and advanced features penetration levels as well.
