According to Dataxis estimate, the US broadband market grew by 0.7% in the second quarter of 2017, gaining 686000 subscribers. The total number of accesses reached 104 million in June 2017. This progression confirms the trend of continuous and regular growth observed in recent years.
Dataxis analysis underlines different variations between broadband technologies. DSL fell from 1.4% to arrive at 25.9 million subscribers. In contrast, cable grew by 0.9% to reach 65.6 million subscribers. FTTx (fiber) technology maintained a relatively high growth rate of 4.1%, reaching 12.5 million accesses.
